Shape, Sculpt, Create: Handbuilding with Clay
ABOUT THE CLASSES
Shape Your Imagination in Clay Hand Building Basics!
Join Heather Huberty every Saturday in February from 10 AM to 12 PM at the Lander Art Center for a warm and welcoming journey into the world of hand-built ceramics. Whether you're new to clay or looking to expand your skills, this class offers structured yet flexible instruction to help you create functional and artistic pieces.
Each week introduces a new project while leaving room for creative exploration and individual pacing:
Week 1: Coffee Dripper – Craft a custom pour-over coffee dripper to elevate your brewing rituals.
Week 2: Butter Dish – Design a functional and elegant butter dish, perfect for home use or gifting.
Week 3: Abstract Vase – Shape a unique and expressive vase, exploring bold forms and designs.
Week 4: To-Go Cup – Build your own reusable clay travel cup, blending art and utility.
Participants may choose to work on projects across multiple sessions, allowing time to refine details and experiment with techniques. All pieces will be bisque-fired on the Lander Art Center’s kiln schedule, preparing them for glazing and final touches.
Looking to continue your clay journey? Consider signing up for a future basic glazing class to transform your bisque-fired pieces into polished, finished works.
All materials and tools are provided. Join us for a fun, supportive environment where creativity and community thrive!
